RADIATION EXPOSURE IN TERRITORIES WITH INCREASED CONTENT OF CAESIUM-137 IN SOIL

Abstract (English):
The article presents a conservative assessment of the values of the effective dose received by residents of settlements located in the observation zone of Mayak Production Association. Data on the content of 137Cs were obtained in the course of field instrumental studies. The average value of the specific activity of 137Cs was 62,5 Bq§kg, which corresponds to an average surface activity of 15,0 kBq§m2 for a soil layer of 10 cm. The results showed that the annual dose limit for the population from the exicting level of 137Cs is not exceeded either with a separate or with a joint implementation of radiation scenarios.
