DEVELOPMENT OF THE IMPROVED METHOD FOR MEASURING THE ACTIVITY OF INDUSTRIAL BETA RADIATION SOURCES AND METHOD FOR HOMOGENEITY CONTROL

Abstract (English):
An improved method for measuring the activity of strontium-90-based beta radiation sources and a method for monitoring their homogeneity are proposed. The necessary hardware was developed. A mathematical model of the «effective thickness of the active layer» was developed and calculations was carried out using the PENELOPE program. Software to determine the activity of sources and visualize the homogeneity of the active layer was developed. A comparison of calculated and experimental data was carried out.
